F1 2010 is a fantastic racing video game, and a much needed F1 simulator that has finally provided a fitting title for motor sport’s figurehead series. With Geoff Crammond’s exceptionally detailed 2002 production, Grand Prix 4, being arguably the last truly great F1 title, F1 2010, developed by gaming veterans Codemasters, has been heralded by fans and critics alike as the savour of F1 on a gaming platform.
It has sold well in the few weeks since its release, it has been praised by gaming buffs up and down the land, and it’s even been given the seal of approval by the sport’s official magazine, F1 Racing. Basically, it’s the video game F1 fans have been waiting years for. But since its release, a series of flaws have started to appear, which would seem to suggest that F1 2010 is not the perfect title we all thought it was at the start.
Trouble for Codemasters
On Codemasters’s official forum, owners of the new F1 title have been posting in their droves, complaining about all manner of bugs, flaws, technical glitches and major problems which have negatively affected their gameplay. Some of these complaints are quite trivial, such as a slight delay in sound when playing online, but others are staggeringly epic, as they dramatically alter the gameplay and at times, stop it dead.
