Yosemite National Park is truly breathtaking, and Yosemite Valley manages to sum up the spectacular beauty of the park making it a great place to base a trip from. All the accommodation options in Yosemite Valley provide amazing vistas, and make the rest of the park hugely accessible, with Yosemite Falls at one end and Half Dome at the other. Each hotel or camp caters to different needs making in park accommodation accessible to all.
Camp Curry
Camp Curry is at the south side of the valley, its original aim was to provide good, clean accommodation at the cheapest rates in the park, it is still all of these things today, although at slightly more than the original $2 a night. There are numerous places to get a bite to eat, including an ice cream parlor, camp shop, pizzeria, and main dining room. The dining room can feel impersonal, however, service is efficient and the food plentiful. Cooking your own food is prohibited at Camp Curry, although there are bear proof, food storage lockers for snacks and picnic supplies. The accommodation is mostly canvas tents with wooden frames sleeping from 2 – 5 people. The tents have no power outlets or washing facilities, they do however have an electric light. There are also a number of more substantial cabins.
